Investment philosophy

Handover instead of takeover.

Find out how our investment philosophy is structured — from our motivation to selection and operational management.

Who we are

A young team with a passion for SMEs.

We are a young investor team that wants to hold and grow small and medium-sized companies. To do so, we draw on a wealth of experience — with successes in scaling, technology and production as well as in mergers & acquisitions.

What we do

We strengthen SMEs by showing them prospects.

We take the solid economic foundation of our companies and plan a corporate strategy together with our long-standing, competent colleagues. This involves sharpening processes, systems and supply chains to reach our companies' full potential — on their own strength.

Investment philosophy

Handover instead of takeover.

Founded in 2021, Painit — through its founders — can look back on an extensive history despite its young age. Company formations, managing director roles, investments in various asset classes and leadership roles in an international context shape the careers of the Painit partners. The basic idea: to give entrepreneurs, through succession, the opportunity to have their life's work continued and to benefit financially from it.

We know how difficult it is to find a suitable successor and to organise the handover. Not least, the employees of the business are particularly affected. We therefore not only give financially sound companies a future, but also offer employees prospects — and prevent an often unprofitable liquidation.

We specialise in industry and acquire companies mainly in the B2B sector — fundamentally sound business models with a long track record. With flexible acquisition models, we support the process at every stage and pass on companies with revenues of €1 million to €20 million sustainably to the next generation.

Investment selection

How we select.

A

Industry

Exclusively B2B, primarily manufacturing companies — open to new industries. We analyse the crisis resilience and sustainability of the business area, value financial stability in earnings, revenue and financing strategy, develop scenarios and plan future financial years.

B

Strategy

A company's strategy is the entrepreneurial DNA of its shareholder. Through site visits and analysis of financial ratios, we develop long-term strategies — without losing the workforce to short-term stress on the road to success.

C

Size

Specialised in smaller, medium-sized businesses with annual revenues of €1 million to €20 million. We look at growth opportunities and structural optimisation potential — always with our overall social responsibility in mind.

Operational continuation

Every company in our portfolio is actively managed and run in day-to-day operations.

Handover

We see our acquisitions as handovers, not takeovers. We work hand in hand with you.

Leadership

We lead our companies hands-on and are actively on site almost every day. A passive investment in your life's work is not an option for us.

Financial management

With our expertise in capital management, we structure our companies optimally to create new value and enable investment in the future.

Optimisation

We rework old contracts, renew marketing concepts and analyse production processes — for example with investments in photovoltaics and energy optimisation.

Strategy

Strategies at business management level — hand in hand with the specialist managers, who have extensive professional experience and a clear view of operations.

Responsibility

We secure jobs and are a reliable partner to our business partners. Speculation or risky transactions have no place in our operational philosophy.
